Day 100- 123

Okay, so there's no point in me even trying to explain how sorry i am that I haven't posted in ages. Ive been really really busy. And a lot has been happening. Exams, interviews and the likes.

So as you may already know, I'm a law student at Glasgow University. And after the summer I'll be going into my final year. I'm currently in the process of selecting my honours courses. decisions, decisions. One of the courses caught my eye before even starting university. it's called the European human Rights Project and it's right up my street! It's an interactive course, i.e. student-led. No teachers, no lecture no seminars. Just 2 teams of 5 students working on a case. A human rights case. A European Human Rights case. All the way from the domestic courts up to a trip to Strasbourg for a mock-trial in front of European judges. exciting stuff! But as you can imagine, its only the creme-de-la-creme that get in. So, I stand nae chance of getting in. So i'm starting to look at the alternatives.
And not just in law. I mean for my career. Recently I've had this feeling that my talents arent best suited to law. It all started a couple of weeks back when I got into a programme called 'So you think you can dance?'. have you heard of it? It's a huuuge deal in the states. And so it should be. the actual talent on the show is surreal.
Now, let's get something straight - im not saying for one second that I want to be a dancer. But, I'd love to direct that kind of programme. Or any television show. Just being able to provide entertainment like that show to hundreds of thousands of viewers - wow! what a buzz. And another great thing about that job would be that not one day would ever be the same. Aaand you'd get paid for watching the telly! it's a win-win.
;)

Anyways I better run. i know I haven't really given yous much chat. It's just that theres something big going on at the moment which I don't really want to get into. And, knowing me i'll just spill in a second! hahaha.

Day 84-99

I'm not even going to bother saying sorry.

Right so, Nerja was awesome. Amazing weather, much to our surprise as the joy that is Google had prepared us for dreadful weather....
Brogan's family holiday home/flat was lovely. The pool was gorgeous and completely empty (yaldi!).
And the beach was....grey. I know, i know, that sucks, BUT once again, it was pretty much empty and we got front row seats on those lounger thingies...fab! We just chilled to be honest. Talking, reading, drinking wine, sunbathing, cooking, swimmming, playing cards etc. And on the 7th (my 21st birthday!) we went out.
banter! First of all we went to a lovely wee open air italian restaurant with views out on to the sea. hmmm bliss! And then we went for cocktails at another wee mexican restaurant, that wasn't soo great. (remind me never to have Margaritas again!) and then we hit a few bars and clubs. One of which was a karaoke bar. The girls thought it would be hilarious to set me up for a solo rendition of 'Sk8r Boi'. Kill me now.
We had such a laugh though. The place was practically empty, considering it wasn't an official holiday anywhere.
So yeah, it was brilliant. Soo nice to get a wee change of scenery and catch up with the ginger again!
At the time we thought it was going to be another 8 weeks or so till we would see each other again....However, when I got back the flatmate told me that one of our teachers had offered an alternative oral exam. Which happens to be on an earlier date. I thought 'BINGO'. Double freakin' jackpot. Oral? AND Earlier? Sign me up!
So all things going well, I could technically be home for the 23rd of June! Which means I could go to my friend Prof's annual BBQ mega-party on the 25th! wohoooo!

Okay, so the day after I arrived from Nerja I had to go straight to a 3-hour lecture, then back, shower, clean the flat, get booze, unpack my bags and have people over for yet another birthday celebration! We had SUCH a ball. Like seriously. It was banter, banter, banter! At one point one of the guys Josh managed to open a wine bottle with just a sewing needle. Now THAT is talent! hahahaha. They all ended up staying till 530am! Can you believe it? The neighbours were NOT happy. Even the ones across the road were telling us to shut up!

Another thing which I have recently done, is buy a Blackberry Bold 9780. Aaah! Can you believe it? Me! The complete phone-phobe.

It's just that my crappy nokia was getting too embarrassing for words. It was literraly in pieces and had parts of the internal connections exposed. Dangerous! So considering I'd always coveted the blackberry bold 9000. I thought now's the time to go for it. So i've bought a refurbished one. I know, i know thats risky buuut the monthly plan i have on it is UNREAL. It actually works out cheaper than what im paying for my PAYG shitty nokia! :O How could I resist?! So my lesson for today is do what it takes to keep in touch with your friends and family. And do it in style while you're at it!.
Hehe!

Day 66-83

Okay. That's just embarrasing. I would apologise for the tardiness of this post, but then again, noone is reading this, so who cares except me,  eh?

Right so, there's been loads going on.
Where did we leave it at last time? Oh yes. I was just about to head home for the Easter break. Well, as you can imagine, I had a splendid time. It was really nice to be back in the comfort of my own home and to spend some quality time with my mum and dad. To be honest it did feel weird this time. I don't know why but it just felt different. As if i was like a 'visitor'. I think my folks were just a wee bit more excited to see me this time. It was also fab catching up with all my friends. Honestly, it was non-stop. At least two of the days I was there I had three different meetings....hectic, to say the very least. Also managed to get myself to Giffnock for the haircut. Overall, it's getting positive feedback. Only problem is that I'm still not 100% sure. I feel like a mum, you know?! Ah well it'll grow on me - literally.

I also managed to break my camera whilst I was out. Let's just say that there was alcohol involved. And lots of it. My aunt and cousin also came up from South Africa to visit us on Easter weekend. So that was nice. But made things twice as difficult when it came to catching up with everyone.

Anyways, for the really exciting news - I think I MIGHT be going to the city of dreams. Yes thats right folks, NYC!!!! But it could just be my imagination playing tricks on me. Okay, here's the background.

I turn 21 in a matter of days. (I can't believe it either). And my dad has been asking me what I want for my birthday and i kept replying with the same answer a 'blackberry' or a pair of 'GHDs'. But he kept saying 'no' to both of them as they didn't constitute 'appropriate' presents. So I also snuck in (for the millionth time) New York. But, as per bloody usual, he just laughed and went on his rant about how we're not 'made of money' etc....So i dropped it. As I have been doing for the past 13 years. BUT,over the holidays we did a lot of family visits and went to see my dad's cousin Donald and his kids and grandaughter Gael. They started talking about their recent trip to the marvellous city and how great a time they had had. So my dad was really involved in that chat and my mum whispered to my aunt Kristeen ' keep talking about it, he might feel encouraged to go for it'. So they kept chatting the city up. The same way we chat up our friends to guys that they like in nightclubs. And he seemed to be genuinely interested in the chat. Like, even asking question and everything! My mum always says to me ' if you want your man to do something, you've got to let him think that it was his idea in the first place.' so i get the feeling that that is what my mum has up her sleeve because later on the week I asked her what she was actually planning for my 21st. (FYI - in Spain birthdays arent a huge deal, and a person's 21st is nothing special) So as you can imagine my mum isnt fussed about the whole 21st thing. And to be honest, neither am I. Nothing different happens to you in the UK. It's 18 thats the big deal. but whatevs, considering everything else in our lives has been americanised... So she suddenly hit out with 'oh well, we might be doing a trip over the summer'
AAAHHHHH - are you guys thinking what I'm thinking?! 'Concrete jungle where dreams are made of' indeed.

So fingers crossed I'll get a wee phone call when im on the beach recovering from my mortal hangover with the ginger and brogan on the beach saying 'to keep august free for N.Y.C'. hmmmm....but knowing my parents they probably meant a weekend in Oban.

Anyways, what else has been going on?

Oh aye! The royal wedding! Did yous watch it?! It was lovely wasn't it? I even had a wee get-together with some of the other British folk here in Granada. Loooved the dress. Especially loved the maid-of-honours dress - Thats kind of the style that I'm thinking of for my wedding. All I need now is to get me a man, eh!?pfft, a cardboard cut-out will do just fine, thank you!

It was a lovely ceremony and it was really nice to see the whole nation (except Glasgow, obvs) celebrate in true British fashion.
Went shopping yesterday and spent far too much money, yet again. Oh well, I'm off to the beach on friday to celebrate mines and the ginger's 21st. Life's too short and the handbag was too cute to resist! hahaha.

Right I'm off m'loved ones.

Day 63-65

Don't you just love a cancelled lecture?!
Ahhh, I'm heading back to my home town Glasgow tomorrow and this cancellation couldn't have come at a better time. I can now catch up with my last minute tanning, new music discoveries and online shopping...(you know, the essentials!) hahaha. ( I swear to god, it was 37 degrees here the other day. melting.com)
So i've jam packed my diary for the return home. honestly, it's like 24/7 coffees and lunches and nights outs - looove it! I miss being a wee busy bee. I' ve also been struggling to find a decent summer dress. Can you think of any recommendations? It's not quite reached the summer collections here yet so it's in that kinda in-between seasons phase, which is nae good for anyone! So, im hoping that Glasgow will have better stuff to offer!

I'm getting completely addicted to Gilmore Girls. I think i've already mentioned that before, but it deserves a  re-mention. It's soo clever. And, it has the added bonus of bringing back memories of me and my mother's banter. I'm near the end of Season 5. You know, with the wonderful Logan. hmmmm me likey!!
ohh, ive also booked a hairdressers appointment and i'm thinking of bringing back the BOB.

what do you think? I'm a little worried that it might all end up in tears, but this heat is going to become unbearable and i really need a change. this is the longest my hair has ever been and its getting really flat due to its weight. hmmmm, i'll keep you updated with what i end up getting!
Right folks i'm off to increase the number of freckles on my arms, if that's even possible !

Day 58-62

Pride & Prejudice is a great film, isn't it? I mean there are soo many lessons to be learnt in it. Don't worry I'm not going to bore you with an in-depth analysis or anything. It's just that every time I watch it (The Keira Knightley version) I notice something new in it. I think tonight, when I was watching it I realised all the little looks and glances and small, seemingly insignificant, details that are captured by the director. Like in the dance sequences the way in which the characters look at each other in the background amongst all the palaver. It's almost as if what isn't said says more than what is. Do you know what I'm getting at?
And I think that's my lesson for today - let's all go back to the 19th century. Things were much less complicated then. Where a slight handshake or smile meant a whole lot more. Let's make the small things count. Well, I'm going to. When was the last time a guy came up to you in a club and just smiled, or looked at you from the other side of the club without immediately coming over to jump you? or held a door open for you without looking at you inappropriately. Can't remember? Nah, neither can I.

From now on, I shall settle for nothing less than my own wee Darcyboy. Hell, if Lizzy can blag herself one, then who can't!?

Keira Knightley is a royal tit, by the way.

Oh and I'm loving Two Door Cinema Club these days - pure ecstasy.
